November Friday Night Lights + Epic Lifting Saturday

Friday Night Lights - CrossFit Fringe

Outliers! It’s time for another edition of Friday Night Lights! Let’s jump-start the holidays by giving back to our community through the Central Missouri Food Bank!

So join us at the box Friday, November 21st starting at 6:30pm for an evening of epic WODs and canned food collection. As always, the WOD will be a surprise (or mostly a surprise, you know how we are with secrets) and the cost of admission is 2 canned goods/1 non-perishable item to donate. All skill levels are welcome, and of course, you can come just to spectate and hang out.

Then, on Saturday, November 22 beginning at Noon, if you just haven’t had enough lifting, we’ll be heading over to Iron Wolf CrossFit for some lifting with the Mid-Missouri Weightlifting Club, dubbed “Max Out with Mid Missouri Weightlifting Club.” It’s the opportunity to epically lift heavy weight, meet some other local athletes, and make a BIGGER impact to the Central Missouri Food Bank. The cost to participate is 2 canned goods/1 non-perishable food item. All skill levels welcome.

If you can’t make either event, a box will be available for donations anytime between now and Thanksgiving. Bring items you have at your house (pending expiration date), or pick some up on your next grocery run. It’s so simple! Some items that are often most needed:

  • Boxed meals (Hamburger Helper®)
  • Canned meats (chicken, tuna)
  • Peanut butter & jelly
  • Canned vegetables
  • Hot & cold cereals
  • Canned soup
  • Canned fruit
  • Pasta, rice

So, a Friday of epic lifting and giving back, and then again on Saturday. Are you seeing the theme here!?

Edited to add: In addition to the Food Bank, we will also be raising money for Sweat Angels in a special project called 50 States in a Year. It is a year-long charity fundraising tour by Katie Arnold and Samantha Laufer. The girls will be visiting CrossFit boxes all across the country while teaming up with Sweat Angels to raise money for a different cause every month of the year.

In November, they will be raising money for meals for families in need. As they travel the country, they will also be spreading the message of health, wellness and fitness in hopes of inspiring others to lead a healthier, happier and more active lifestyle. Follow the girls as they travel the country on their blog 50statesinayear.com.
