I played sports all my life, and come from a very active family. Competed in any sport that involves an engine. Played football, hockey, wrestled, and power lifted before college. Before college, I played any sport that involved a board. My dad and brother do CrossFit.

What was your first experience with CrossFit?

It was watching the CrossFit Games, and then going to a CrossFit gym in AZ.

What is it about CrossFit that makes it so popular & effective do you think?

It’s a way for people to be fit in today’s obese and health-obsessed world, and it allows average people to be competitive and to find their inner athlete.

Can you recall your most brutal workout?

Every WOD is brutal when your my size!

What does a typical training day look like for you?

Depends on the time of year, but when I’m strictly training it’s cardio at 6:30 am that starts with a warm-up and then cardio till 8. Then I lift from 2:30-4:30, and it’s all strength training. That’s four days a week, and then on Saturdays I train olympic lifts for two to three hours.

Who are your biggest athletic or general inspirations?

My biggest inspirations are Arnold Schwarzenegger, The Rock, West Side Barbell, Travis Mash, and Brandon Lilly.

If you could only use one piece of workout gear for the rest of your life, what would it be?

A barbell and lots of weights.

A barbell eh? What about one of our members?
