Meet Nicole

Let’s meet Nicole, one of our incredible success stories. Nicole embarked on her nutrition journey with us, participating in our Nutrition Challenges and receiving personalized 1:1 coaching from Coach Nate. Her progress is a story that many of you can relate to.

Nicole is a successful and busy mom, wife, and Air Force vet who trains CrossFit with us in our dynamic group classes. Before joining forces with our Nutrition Team, Nicole faced challenges in maintaining consistency in the face of adversity. If she missed a few meals, made less-than-ideal snack choices, or experienced minor fluctuations on the scale, it would discourage her and disrupt her overall progress. But everything changed for Nicole over the past few months.

Nicole’s journey was like a rollercoaster ride, with twists and turns, ups and downs. But now, she’s taken the driver’s seat, steering her path with determination and resilience, leaving no room for those minor bumps to derail her progress. This is because we didn’t put Nicole on an extreme plan that would have her struggling to remain consistent and maintain her results. No way.

Phase 1:

We made it our priority to simplify our approach, allowing us to build upon positive momentum and not let any deviations drag us down. Our strategy involved implementing small, repeatable actions and habits that gradually led to significant changes. We also learned to remove excessive focus or overcorrection from any hurdles or hiccups along the way. By embracing this mindset, we found a sustainable path to success that allowed us to stay motivated and resilient. 

We also tackled a common struggle that many people face: how they perceive their daily intake. Like Nicole, many viewed it as a maximum number to reach, resulting in them consistently falling short and not getting enough nutrition for success. We decided to flip the script and reframe the mindset. Instead of a maximum, we encouraged Nicole to see her daily intake as a minimum number to hit. 

This simple shift in perspective was a game-changer for her. It allowed her to embrace going over occasionally, realizing that it could actually contribute to her overall success. By focusing on meeting the minimum and exceeding it when necessary, Nicole found a new level of flexibility and empowerment for her journey. And we were just getting started!

Phase 2:

By anticipating switch-ups and proactively making a plan, she took control of her nutrition journey. Instead of being caught off guard when faced with events or situations outside her normal routine, she embraced practical application and prepared ahead of time. She recognized that relying on things falling into place wasn’t a sustainable strategy. Instead, she developed backup strategies to tackle new challenges head-on. With this proactive mindset, she navigated through different scenarios with confidence, ensuring that her nutrition goals remained on track.

Phase 3:

As we embark on the third phase of our journey now, we’re shifting our focus to TRAVEL and the importance of really leaning into enjoying experiences. With our tools and strategies, we can find a balance between hitting our baseline and enjoying the moments we’re in full-stop.
