Introducing our newest coach, Mitch Stout!
What was your first experience with CrossFit?
I was back home in Indiana, my friend thought I would be interested after being bored with my routine at a normal globo gym. First workout was a 10 minute AMRAP, 10 reps each movement of situps, squats, and pushups.
What is it about CrossFit that makes it so popular & effective do you think?
The community aspect is what makes this type of training successful and enjoyable for other all over the world. Coming into the gym to workout with friends is always my favorite part of the day. All worries are gone when I walk through those gym doors.
Can you recall your most brutal workout?
“The Seven”…seven movements, seven reps of each, seven round of hell! TYPICAL TRAINING DAY I come in mostly midday (work 3AM-8AM), 11AM-2PM, working strength/skills/WOD typically everyday.
Who are your biggest athletic or general inspirations?
I’m a huge fan of Peyton Manning and his work ethic towards his craft of the game. A great model for hard work and paying attention to the small details in his sport (and life).
If you could only use one piece of workout gear for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Rower… Such a tough piece of equipment and it always wrecks your soul when you use it.
